Saltair Winter Market Vendor Call Out

Calling All Local Makers

The Saltair Community Centre Society is now accepting vendor applications for the 2026 Saltair Winter Market.

Join us on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a day celebrating local talent, handcrafted products and artisan foods in a warm and welcoming community atmosphere.

We’re looking for vendors offering quality handmade and locally produced items, including:

  • Handcrafted gifts
  • Artisan baking and specialty foods
  • Pottery and ceramics
  • Woodworking
  • Soaps and body care products
  • Fibre arts, knitting and crochet
  • Jewellery
  • Artwork
  • Preserves and other locally made products

Vendor tables measure 6 feet x 3 feet and are $30 per table.

To provide shoppers with a wide variety of handmade products and support as many local artisans as possible, vendor applications are currently limited to one table per vendor.

Whether you’re an established artisan or just beginning your handmade business, we’d love to hear from you. The Saltair Winter Market is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your work, meet shoppers from across the region and support our local maker community.

Vendor spaces are limited and are assigned on a first-accepted basis, so we encourage interested vendors to apply early.

Celebrating Ladysmith Grad 2026 Bursary Recipients

The Saltair Community Centre Society was honoured to attend the Ladysmith Secondary School 2026 Graduation Awards Ceremony to recognize two outstanding Saltair students.

Congratulations to Griffin Demeter, recipient of the Saltair Community Centre Society $750 Bursary, and Reid Watson, recipient of the Saltair District Residents Association $810 Bursary.

These bursaries recognize students who have demonstrated dedication, hard work, and a commitment to their future goals. We are proud to support local graduates as they take the next step in their educational journeys.

Both bursaries are awarded to graduating students who reside in the Saltair community.

Congratulations, Griffin and Reid! We wish you both every success and happiness in your future studies and endeavours.

Celebrating Chemainus Secondary School 2026 Bursary Recipients

The Saltair Community Centre Society was honoured to attend the Chemainus Secondary School Class of 2026 Scholarship and Bursary Awards Evening to celebrate the achievements of graduating students and recognize two outstanding Saltair residents.

On behalf of the Saltair Community Centre Society, we were honoured to present a $750 bursary to Saltair resident Jaxon Hotte. We were also pleased to present the Saltair District Residents Association $560 bursary to fellow Saltair resident Ethan Johnson.

Both bursaries are awarded to graduating students who reside in the Saltair community.

Congratulations to Jaxon and Ethan. We wish you every success and happiness as you begin the next chapter of your journey.

Saltair Water System Update and Budget Meeting

Saltair Water System Update & 2026 CVRD Budget Briefing

Area G Director Jesse McClinton will be hosting a community meeting March 8th 2:00pm at the Saltair Community Centre to provide further updates and answer questions.

Topics will include:

  • 2026 CVRD Budget and its impact on Saltair/Area G
  • Official Community Plan (OCP) implications
  •  Local Area Plan (LAP) update
  • Water system infrastructure and treatment planning
  • Stocking Lake Dam

This a great opportunity to connect with your community and participate in an Q & A and gather important information.

7th Annual Saltair Seedy Saturday

Spring is on the way, and that means it’s time for Seedy Saturday at Saltair.

Now in its seventh year, this community favourite brings gardeners, growers, and the garden-curious together to share seeds, knowledge, and a little early-season optimism. Expect locally grown seeds, plants, seedlings, knowledge, garden related items for sale, friendly conversations, and plenty of inspiration for the months ahead.

Come connect, swap, and start the growing season together, one seed at a time. 🌱
